Summary

Persistent lung abnormalities and elevated SARS-CoV-2 IgG levels were observed in COVID-19 survivors up to 18 months post-discharge. Age and IgG levels predicted CT abnormalities, while lung function improved over time.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate changes in CT abnormalities, pulmonary function, and antibody levels 6 and 18 months after COVID-19 hospitalization.
  • To identify risk factors for residual CT abnormalities.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective cohort study of COVID-19 patients.
  • Chest CT, pulmonary function tests (PFT), and SARS-CoV-2 IgG measurements at 6 and 18 months.

  • Age and elevated SARS-CoV-2 IgG levels are significant predictors of persistent CT abnormalities.
  • Pulmonary function, particularly FVC, shows improvement over time, but remains linked to CT findings.
