Summary

Proteolytic-induced epitope retrieval (PIER) is the most effective method for improving immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining of cartilage intermediate layer protein 2 (CILP-2) in osteoarthritic cartilage. Heat-induced methods were less effective and caused tissue detachment.
