Identifying suitable patients for psychological treatment remains a challenge.

Purpose of the Study:

To optimize digital screening and referral processes for chronic pain distress within primary care.
To gather multidisciplinary team feedback on a proposed screening workflow.

Main Methods:

A primary care clinic team provided feedback on a digital screening and referral workflow via survey.
The workflow involved customer service representatives, medical assistants (MAs), and physicians.

Main Results:

68% agreed screening for chronic pain distress is important.
66% preferred customer service representatives to initiate screening; 84% preferred MAs to handle returns.
Opinions varied on whether positive screens should alert physicians (58%) or MAs (40%).

Conclusions:

Primary care team members had positive views on integrating digital chronic pain distress screening.
Feedback facilitated finalization of screening and referral logistics for clinic integration.
