Right Heart Recovery Post Lung Transplant With COVID-19-Related Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Lung transplantation significantly improves right ventricular (RV) size and function in patients with severe COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Echocardiography shows normalization of RV remodeling and improved systolic function post-transplant.

- These positive changes occur within a relatively short postoperative period.
- The findings support lung transplantation as an effective treatment for severe COVID-19 ARDS with associated right heart dysfunction.
