    Summary

    Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is a rare vulvar sarcoma. Wide local excision is an effective treatment for this condition, though further research is needed.

    Background:

    • Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare, low-grade soft tissue sarcoma.
    • DFSP typically arises in the dermis and subcutis, with rare occurrences in the vulva.

    Observation:

    • A 52-year-old woman presented with a tumor of the mons pubis.
    • Morphological examination revealed a whirling pattern of spindle cells with slender, interdigitating processes and labyrinth nuclei, characteristic of DFSP.

    Findings:

    • The observed histopathological features were consistent with a diagnosis of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
    • Wide local excision was determined to be sufficient therapeutic intervention.

    Implications:

    • This case highlights the occurrence of DFSP in the vulvar region.
    • Additional clinical experience is required to fully understand and manage this rare presentation of vulvar sarcoma.
