COVID-19 in Individuals with Severe Alpha 1-Antitrypsin Deficiency

Individuals with severe alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) generally experienced mild COVID-19. However, those with co-occurring COPD faced a significantly higher risk of severe coronavirus infection.
