  • A 73-year-old female with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis presented with a vertex scalp mass, dizziness, and blurred vision.
  • The skull abnormality preceded the neurological symptoms and was noted after a history of head trauma.

  • Laboratory tests were normal except for elevated vitamin D levels.
  • CT and MRI scans confirmed bilateral parietal bone loss without any cerebral abnormalities.

Implications:

  • This case underscores the need to consider biparietal osteodystrophy in the differential diagnosis of scalp abnormalities.
  • Dermatologists should be aware of BPT and its association with systemic conditions like osteoporosis.
