Phosphate supplementation may contribute to refeeding edema in patients with eating disorders (EDs). This study found that phosphate supplementation was associated with increased weight gain in individuals with severe malnutrition due to anorexia nervosa (AN) or avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
