A Method for Imaging the Ischemic Penumbra with MRI Using Intravoxel Incoherent Motion

Intravoxel incoherent motion MRI (IVIM) local cerebral blood flow (local-qCBF) shows strong correlation with DSC local-qCBF and predicts infarct growth. This noncontrast IVIM method may improve acute ischemic stroke assessment.

- Noncontrast IVIM measurement of local-qCBF shows promise in assessing collateral circulation.
- IVIM local-qCBF and PWI/DWI mismatch may enhance prediction of infarct growth in acute ischemic stroke.
