Ionizing radiation (IR) impairs lung epithelial progenitor cell function, reducing organoid formation for at least 7 days. This effect occurs without significant cytotoxicity, inflammation, or epithelial-mesenchymal transition, highlighting a sensitive method for studying radiation-induced lung injury (RILI).
