Summary

Medullary renal cell carcinoma is a rare and aggressive cancer. Early diagnosis and treatment are vital for this rapidly fatal disease, especially in metastatic cases.

Background:

Medullary renal cell carcinoma (MRC-RCC) is an exceptionally rare and aggressive kidney cancer.
MRC-RCC is characterized by a uniformly rapid and fatal progression.

Purpose of the Study:

To highlight the key characteristics, presentation, rarity, and aggressive nature of medullary renal cell carcinoma.
To emphasize the critical need for expeditious diagnosis and prompt treatment of metastatic MRC-RCC.

Main Methods:

Case report of a 24-year-old male patient.
Review of clinical presentation, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment considerations for metastatic MRC-RCC.

Main Results:

The patient presented with progressive cough and shortness of breath, initially evaluated in urgent care and emergency departments.
