Background:

Vertical rectus abdominis myocutaneous (VRAM) flaps are standard for large sacral defects.
VRAM flaps are associated with significant donor-site abdominal morbidity.
Deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flaps are an alternative with potentially lower morbidity.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of DIEP flaps for sacral defect reconstruction.
To compare DIEP flap donor-site morbidity with VRAM flaps.

Case report of two male patients with large sacral soft tissue defects post-tumor excision.
