Area of Science:

  • Neuroscience
  • Psychology
  • Digital Health

Background:

  • Traditional neuropsychological testing relies on in-person, paper-pencil methods.
  • Remote testing platforms offer potential for at-home assessments but require validation.
  • The Mindmore Remote battery is a newly developed digital tool for at-home cognitive assessment.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To examine the convergent validity of the Mindmore Remote test battery.
  • To compare the performance of healthy adults on Mindmore Remote versus traditional on-site neuropsychological tests.

Main Methods:

  • A pilot study involving 52 healthy adults.
  • Participants completed both Mindmore Remote at home and traditional on-site testing in a randomized order.
  • Pearson and Spearman correlations were used to compare test performance.

Main Results:

  • Significant correlations were found between all Mindmore Remote tests and traditional tests.
  • Verbal tests demonstrated stronger correlations (r = .71–.83) than non-verbal tests (r = .48–.71).
  • Computer mouse users showed stronger correlations than touchpad users.

Conclusions:

  • Mindmore Remote verbal tests are comparable to traditional face-to-face neuropsychological tests.
  • Further validation is necessary for Mindmore Remote tests involving visuo-motor interaction.
  • Weaker correlations in some tests may be due to test modifications rather than remote administration.
