Abstract:
Retained bullet fragments are common after nonfatal gunshot wounds, although only a minority are removed. Here we describe an elderly patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, opioid use disorder, and chronic untreated Hepatitis C infection who presented to the hospital with pancytopenia, and was incidentally found to have retained shotgun pellets.
