Understanding Adherence to Medication in Chronic Patients: A Comprehensive Approach for Optimization and Analysis of
Abstract:
This study explores the multifaceted factors that influence adherence to medication in chronic diseases. Recognizing the complexity of adherence, the research involves various psychological, social and individual determinants. Advanced algorithms developed in the context of the European BEAMER project analyse a large database, revealing five important structural factors: number of medications, socioeconomic status as indicated by the deprivation index, health interactions, patient gender and presence of cardiovascular disease. These results highlight the complex interaction between personal characteristics and external factors in adherence to medication.
