Abstract:
Two new C21 steroids periplosteroid A-B (1-2) and seven known C21 steroids (3-9) were isolated from the stems and roots of Periploca forrestii, among them, compounds 5, 6, 8 and 9 were firstly isolated from this plant. The structures of periplosteroid A-B were identified by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses, including 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR, HR-ESI-MS, UV, and IR spectral data. The results of cytotoxic activity showed that all the isolates exhibited certain inhibitory activity on six kinds of human tumour cell lines (786-O, MKN-45, 5637, L-02, MCF7 and 293 T).
