Abstract:
Synthesis of copper nanoparticles through physical, chemical, or green methods usually initiates from a precursor salt of copper. However, many sources comprise not only copper but also other metals. In this article, we report the synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles from bioleached copper through an optimized double precipitation method. The synthesized nanoparticles of particle size 63.3 nm and crystalline size 12.70 nm were characterized further using X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), dispersive light scattering (DLS), and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) for their physical and chemical properties.
