    Area of Science:

    • Neurology
    • Endocrinology
    • Critical Care Medicine

    Background:

    • Decerebrate posturing is a severe neurological sign indicating brainstem dysfunction.
    • Hypoglycemia, or low blood glucose, can manifest with diverse and sometimes unusual neurological symptoms.
    • The association between severe hypoglycemia and decerebrate posturing is not widely recognized.
