A CASE OF SUCCESSFUL CILIARY BODY SUTURE FOR RECURRENT MEMBRANOUS DEPOSITS AROUND THE INTRAOCULAR LENS IN A PATIENT

Purpose:
To report a case of recurrent membranous deposits around an intraocular lens that was effectively managed with ciliary body suturing after cyclodialysis.
Methods:
A 68-year-old man developed recurrent membranous deposits around an intraocular lens after scleral fixation associated with traumatic ciliary body detachment, resulting in a decrease in vision to 20/300. The patient underwent ciliary body suturing and membrane excision.
Results:
After ciliary body suturing and membrane excision, the recurrence of membranous deposits was prevented, and visual acuity improved to 20/25. No further depositions were observed, and additional surgery was not required.
Conclusion:
Ciliary body suturing was effective for managing recurrent membranous deposits around the intraocular lens associated with cyclodialysis, suggesting its potential application in similar cases of traumatic eye injury.
