Radiation therapy for breast cancer can cause subclinical cardiac changes. Higher cardiac radiation doses are linked to a persistent decrease in left ventricular global longitudinal strain (GLS) over two years.

- Radiation therapy without chemotherapy can lead to subclinical cardiac changes.
- Cardiac MRI is valuable for detecting early signs of cardiotoxicity after radiotherapy.
