Abstract:
Mental simulation has been applied in surgical training to improve performance and overall competence. This article reviews the theoretic and practical aspects of mental simulation, explaining how it should be effectively used in surgical practice. We examine the underlying concepts, potential theories, framework related to mental simulation, and its applications in surgery for managing stress as well as the integration of other mental skills into mental simulation exercises. In the field of Surgery, mental simulation serves as an effective method to accelerate the learning process. Further research is necessary to better understand the practical application of mental simulation in surgery.
