    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To identify bacteria present in female breast tissue.
    • To determine the antibiotic susceptibility patterns of these bacteria.
    • To assess the potential for antibiotic prophylaxis to prevent capsular formation.

    • Bacterial samples collected from 25 patients (49 breasts) during reduction mammaplasty using an impression pad method.
    • Samples incubated aerobically and anaerobically on agar plates.
