[Support in the face of addiction]

Providing care in a harm reduction support center for drug users (Caarud), a medico-social establishment designed to accommodate a precarious drug-using public, involves supporting people who are often far removed from any medical system. In fact, drug users lead a life devoted to drugs, leaving little or no room for anything else, particularly care. Our job at Caarud is to support the individual in his or her efforts, by trying to put the product at a distance. However, this support is not without consequences for the care team.
