Summary

Absorbable collagen sponge (ACS) use during maxillary sinus elevation promotes new bone formation. The amount of new bone is influenced by the number of ACS used and sinus membrane perforation, especially in the crestal approach.

  • Retrospective evaluation of 108 patients undergoing maxillary sinus elevation via crestal approach (CA) or lateral approach (LA).
