Integrative Health Coaching (IHC) frequency showed weak, non-significant links to improved diet and physical activity. However, the Intensive Therapeutic Lifestyle Change (ITLC) program yielded clinically significant health improvements.
Area of Science:
- Lifestyle Medicine
- Integrative Health
- Preventive Cardiology
Background:
- The Intensive Therapeutic Lifestyle Change (ITLC) program aims to improve health through lifestyle modifications.
- Investigating the impact of Integrative Health Coaching (IHC) frequency is crucial for optimizing program effectiveness.
Purpose of the Study:
- To examine the association between the frequency of Integrative Health Coaching (IHC) and changes in biometrics, diet, and physical activity.
- To evaluate the clinical significance of health outcomes within the ITLC program.
Main Methods:
- Retrospective cohort study of 44 participants (aged 35-78) in an 8-week ITLC program.
- Data collected included InBody scans, laboratory panels, and ACLM lifestyle forms.
- Analysis focused on pre-post changes and correlations with IHC frequency.
Main Results:
- Weak positive correlations found between IHC frequency and physical activity, and fruit/vegetable intake (not statistically significant).
- Clinically significant improvements in physical activity, BMI, HbA1c, total cholesterol, and LDL-C were observed.
- Higher physical activity was linked to reduced HDL-C and slight decreases in BMI, HbA1c, and LDL-C.
Conclusions:
- While IHC frequency did not show significant correlations, the ITLC program facilitated clinically meaningful health improvements.
- Lifestyle modifications, including diet and physical activity, are key drivers of positive health outcomes.
- Further research is needed to elucidate the optimal frequency of IHC for maximizing therapeutic lifestyle changes.
