Abstract:
Physician burnout continues to be a pressing issue for health care organizations, mainly in addressing the root causes contributing to electronic health record (EHR) burden. This project evaluates a multi-pronged Physician Engagement Strategy implemented at a Canadian mental health hospital, focusing on EHR experiences, leadership, and education. Results have shown improved physician experiences, reduced burnout, and enhanced perceptions of EHR benefits. Additionally, interviews with CMIOs across Ontario highlighted gaps and opportunities for national EHR wellness strategies.
