Objective:
To create and validate an educational video for elderly people about nursing care before, during and after therapeutic bloodletting.
Method:
Methodological study developed in four stages: scoping review; video construction; content validation by judges and semantic validation by the elderly people. Thirteen judges and seven elderly people participated, from September to December 2023. The judges validated the content using Google Forms® and the elderly people validated at the Collection and Transfusion Unit in a city in the interior of Mato Grosso, Brazil, with data analysis performed using the Content Validity Index.
Results:
Video lasting six minutes and 19 seconds, composed of 11 scenes. It included information about therapeutic bloodletting and nursing care before, during and after the procedure. In the validation by the judges, a Content Validity Index of 0.85 was obtained and among the elderly people a 1.00.
Conclusion:
Both experts and elderly individuals considered the educational video as an appropriate audiovisual resource to convey the necessary care in this therapy, judging it as a tool that presented enlightening information throughout the bloodletting process.
