Abstract:
Celiac disease (CeD) is a prevalent gluten-induced autoimmune condition that affects approximately 1%-2% of the global population. Recent research has emphasized the pivotal role of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in regulating inflammatory responses and modulating autoimmune processes. This diverse group contains microRNAs (miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs),and serves as critical regulators in various physiological and disease-related pathways.A group of validated non-coding RNAs have emerged as promising biomarkers forthe diagnosis and treatment ofCeD.This review aims to elucidate the pathogenesis of CeD and investigate the potential of miRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers for this condition. By doing so, we hope to offer valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of CeD and demonstrate the utility of ncRNAs as diagnostic and therapeutic tools in managing this autoimmune disorder.
