Synthesis of Biaryl-Based Phosphasilinanes via Giese-Type Addition for Palladium-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling Reactions

Abstract:
Herein, we report a method for synthesizing bench-stable phosphasilinane-based Phos ligands. Utilizing a Giese-type addition between biaryl phosphines and divinyl silanes, this strategy enables the efficient preparation of phosphasilinane-based ligands. The method is highly tunable, as demonstrated by the reaction with various divinylsilane derivatives, allowing fine-tuning of steric properties. These newly developed ligands outperform previously reported phosphasilinanes and SPhos in demanding cross-coupling reactions of heteroaryl chlorides with piperidine and phenylboronic acid.
