    Reconstructing contracted ocular sockets is challenging. A novel C-shaped conformer technique successfully creates a C-shaped cul-de-sac, enabling comfortable artificial eye retention for patients.

    • A custom-made, C-shaped mucous membrane-lined conformer was developed.
    • The mid-aspect of the conformer was secured to the superior and inferior orbital rims.
    • This technique was applied to patients with total and partial ocular socket contractures.

    • The technique successfully created a spacious, C-shaped cul-de-sac in 36 patients with total contractures.
    • A modified technique was successful in 12 patients with partial contractures.
    • All treated patients could easily retain an artificial eye post-operation.

    • This method restores normal ocular cul-de-sac anatomy, improving artificial eye retention.
