None:
The N2 triple bond is cleaved through the rearrangement of NNBBCO via an (η2-N2)BBCO intermediate to form a BNBNCO complex in a low-temperature nitrogen matrix, which is identified by infrared spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. The inductive effect of CO and the electron density transfer from B-B multiple bonds to N2 through a transition metal-like π-backdonation are elucidated by theoretical calculations.

Covalent Bonding and Lewis Structures
Covalent Bonds
When two atoms share electrons to complete their valence shells, they create a covalent bond. An atom's electronegativity—the force with which shared electrons are pulled towards an atom—determines how the electrons are shared. Molecules formed with covalent bonds can be either polar or nonpolar. Atoms with similar electronegativities form nonpolar covalent bonds; the electrons are shared equally. Atoms with different electronegativities share electrons unequally,...

¹H NMR: Long-Range Coupling
In alkenes, spin information is communicated via σ–π overlap, as seen in allylic (four-bond) and homoallylic (five-bond) couplings. These coupling interactions are stronger when the σ bond is parallel to the alkene...

A broadband decoupling technique is used to simplify these complex, sometimes overlapping, signals. Broadband decoupling relies on a...
