Abstract:
We present a case of intralabyrinthine schwannoma - a rare benign tumour arising from the peripheral branches of the VIII cranial nerve and localized inside the labyrinth. A 56-year-old woman presented with progressive unilateral sensorineural hearing loss and episodic vestibular syndrome, typical for Meniere's disease. Diagnostic methods, patterns of cochlear and vestibular damage and management of patients with intralabyrinthine schwannoma are discussed.
