Part II: Dermatologic manifestations associated with treatment of patients with kidney disease

Dermatologists are instrumental in diagnosing and treating dermatologic manifestations of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), and affected patients require a multidisciplinary team-based approach to management. In part 2 of this two-part continuing medical education series, we review dermatologic manifestations associated with the management and therapeutics of ESKD. Herein, we highlight the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and management of unique treatment-associated dermatoses in patients with ESKD, including calciphylaxis, dialysis-related amyloidosis, access steal syndrome, acroangiodermatitis, and nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.
