Abstract:
Pectoralis major tendon ruptures are rare injuries commonly seen in young weightlifters during bench pressing exercises. Surgically repairing full-thickness tears within the acute window provides the best functional outcomes, with transosseous bone tunnels, suture anchors, and cortical buttons all having similar biomechanics and excellent reported clinical outcomes. We describe a pectoralis major tendon repair using suture anchors with internal bracing. This is an effective and reproducible repair that provides satisfactory repair strength.
