Abstract:
A new species, Lecidea crepaturicola, from Xinjiang, Northwest China, is described based on morphological and molecular data. It is characterized by a poorly developed whitish thallus, small ascospores, hyaline hypothecium, and thin hymenium, and usually grows along rock crevices. The phylogeny, based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and small subunit mitochondrial RNA (mtSSU) gene regions, supports L. crepaturicola as a distinct new species.
