This article begins by reviewing the history of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), including the rationale for its inception, and how NRP has evolved over time. It reviews the basic tenets of NRP and then summarizes the important changes and revisions to the program over time. It concludes with a review of how select technologies are currently being studied and utilized in NRP education and practice.
