[Causes of Impatience in Radiological Technologists and Its Influence on Work]

Purpose:
Impatience contributes to incidents among radiological technologists, regardless of their years of experience. The purpose of this study was to investigate the causes and effects of impatience in the work of radiological technologists.
Methods:
An exploratory factor analysis was conducted on 148 questionnaire responses using a 5-item scale. The study focused on 26 items related to factors contributing to impatience and 11 items related to its impact on work.
Results:
The analysis identified 3 factors contributing to impatience: "awareness of doctors and nurses working together," "awareness of patients," and "awareness of time." Additionally, 2 effects of impatience on work were identified: "lack of confirmation during examinations" and "lack of confirmation before and after examinations." Multiple regression analysis with the addition of years of experience showed that the lack of confirmation before and after the examination was influenced by shorter years of experience, as well as by a stronger awareness of doctors and nurses working together, and time. At the same time, the lack of confirmation during the examination was influenced by a stronger awareness of doctors and nurses working together.
Conclusion:
This study clarified the factors that cause impatience in the work of radiological technologists and its influence on their work.
