A Convenient Methodology for the Hydrophosphorylation of Exoglycals via EDA Complex

Abstract:
This work reports a simple and original method for the direct hydrophosphorylation of exoglycals as a way to synthesize phosphorus containing C-glycosides. The reaction gives smoothly created P-centered radicals, obtained via an EDA complex in the presence of diphenyl iodonium salt and potassium carbonate from secondary phosphine oxides. These radicals are added onto a range of exoglycals in moderate to good isolated yields. The method presents mild conditions, broad substrate scope on both partners, and good functional group tolerance.
