Abstract:
Regenerative dentistry has seen significant advancements with the integration of innovative biotechnological approaches aimed at enhancing tissue repair and regeneration. Injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) and micro-needling are two emerging techniques with synergistic potential for promoting tissue healing and regeneration. i-PRF, a second-generation platelet concentrate, is rich in growth factors and cytokines that facilitate cellular proliferation, angiogenesis, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Micro-needling, on the other hand, induces controlled micro-injuries to the tissue, triggering a cascade of biological responses that amplify natural healing processes. This review explores the individual and combined effects of i-PRF and micro-needling in regenerative dentistry, focusing on their mechanisms of action, clinical applications, and the underlying molecular pathways that drive their synergistic potential. The integration of these techniques offers promising outcomes in soft tissue healing, periodontal regeneration, and bone remodeling, enhancing gingival phenotype, and providing a minimally invasive, patient-centric approach.
