Abstract:
Bacterial infection causes serious problems for public health, and there is still an urgent need to develop multifunctional antibacterial nanoplatforms with intelligent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity to achieve on-demand therapy of infected wounds and promote wound healing. Herein, a compound nanoplatform, namely, CMPG, with pH response has been constructed by the modification of Cu-doped NIR light-triggered CDs@MoS2 (CuRCDs@MoS2) nanoparticles with polydopamine (PDA) and glycol chitosan (GCS), which possesses synergistic photodynamic and photothermal antibacterial effects. The PDA coating could inhibit the excessive release of CuRCDs@MoS2 and relieve injury to normal tissues. In an acidic microenvironment, the CMPG efficiently targeted bacteria due to its pH-triggered charge inversion property. Subsequently, the CMPG was irradiated to realize effective sterilization through the generated hyperthermia and ROS, and the antibacterial rates were 99.74% and 99.51% for E. coli and S. aureus, respectively. Transcriptome analysis further proved that CMPG inhibits biological activities inside bacteria. The relevant healing experiment results indicated that the synergistic therapy of CMPG presented a great promotion of the recovery rate (97.03%) through promoting wound closure and accelerating angiogenesis and collagen deposition. This research clarified the potential of CMPG as an effective antimicrobial material, offering promising insight into the therapy of bacterial infection and wound healing promotion.
