Abstract:
Immunoglobulin E-mediated food allergies affect millions of patients worldwide. Understanding food allergies, other food-related clinical phenotypes, and clinically available diagnostic testing options can help providers care for impacted patients. This article seeks to review the performance of currently available food allergy (FA) testing modalities and highlights advancements in the field of diagnostic testing for FA. Novel diagnostics may have considerable implications for advancing accurate risk assessment, patient phenotyping, and FA management.
