Summary
A rare neurofibroma in a 66-year-old woman was surgically removed. Reconstruction of orbital defects was successfully achieved using a biplanar supramid implant.
Area of Science:
- Neurosurgery
- Oncology
- Ophthalmology
Background:
- Neurofibromas are benign nerve sheath tumors.
- Solitary neurofibromas of the infraorbital nerve are uncommon.
- Tumor extension into the orbit and maxillary antrum presents surgical challenges.
