[68Ga]Ga-NODAGA-RGD post MI reflects activated fibroblasts rather than angiogenesis

Positron emission tomography (PET) tracer [68Ga]Ga-NODAGA-RGD targets alpha-v-beta-3 integrin. This study found activated fibroblasts, not angiogenic cells, express the highest integrin levels post-myocardial infarction (MI), questioning the tracer's utility for imaging MI angiogenesis.
