Functional Design Considerations for Developing a Gut Health Application to Prevent LOH Syndrome

None:
Late-Onset Hypogonadism (LOH syndrome) is a menopausal disorder in men, and the main cause is a decrease in male hormone (testosterone) levels. Compared to women, men's hormonal decline is more often caused by environmental changes than by aging, which increases the risk of lifestyle-related diseases. Furthermore, studies suggest a relationship between testosterone concentration, the diversity of intestinal microflora, and a gut-brain correlation. Enhancing Gut Health to improve the intestinal environment is expected to boost immunity, promote quality sleep, and prevent aging, closely linking it to the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. In this study, we focus on the prevention of menopausal disorders in men and Gut Health, with the aim of developing an application that enables self-checking, and to examine functions to be added to the application. The application uses "Gut note," an existing Gut Health application. This application can measure bowel sounds and record bowel activity and bowel movements. Additional functions to be added to this application are: AMS Self-Check used for self-checking of menopausal symptoms; a function for integrating lifestyle data such as diet, sleep, and exercise; a function that allows users to interact with their future selves through a generated AI; and a function for reminding and providing information through a chatbot on LINE. These functions enable users to understand their health status and take appropriate remedial measures, which is expected to prevent male menopause.
