Abstract:
It was investigated if the beginner nurses acquiring higher information utilization skills (IUS) could acquire higher clinical nursing skills (CNS), targeted at up to 3rd year beginner nurses after the employment. 246 beginner nurses participated this study. They were divided into 121 graduated from university or college and 125 from nursing school. The subjects were further divided to higher and lower IUS subgroups by the total ability of IUS. The acquisition score of CNS was investigated by the self-assessment using up to 3rd levels in CNS of the nursing ladder developed by the Japanese Nursing Association. It was shown that beginner nurses with higher IUS acquired higher skills of CNS.
