This preliminary study examines how vision and body posture are related in children aged 7-11 and their parents. We included 31 children and 11 parents in this study. Vision was assessed through comprehensive eye exams, while posture was analyzed using the DIERS formetric 4D system based on video raster stereography. The results showed that children with astigmatism had more noticeable posture imbalances than those without. Higher levels of astigmatism in one direction were linked to side-to-side posture changes, while greater spherical refractive errors were associated with more pronounced spinal curves. Astigmatism in another direction was connected to less pronounced curves in the spine. These findings suggest that vision problems may affect posture and vice versa, highlighting the need for early vision screenings to detect potential postural issues.
