Comprehensive thermal properties of Y3Al5O12 from 160 K to 500 K
Abstract:
We measured the linear thermal expansion, the change of optical path length, and the thermal diffusivity in Y3Al5O12 (YAG) single crystal and ceramics experimentally from cryogenic temperature to a high temperature. Based on these evaluations, the comprehensive thermal properties of YAG were tabulated. We also indicated the numerical equations that can express the thermal diffusivity, the specific heat, thermal conductivity, the linear thermal expansion coefficient, and the temperature coefficient of refractive index for YAG single crystals and ceramics in the wide temperature range from 160 K to 500 K.

Sigmatropic shifts are classified based on an order term [i, j ], where i and j indicate the number of atoms across which each end of the σ bond migrates. Below are examples of a [3,3] sigmatropic shift in...
Thermal expansion and Thermal stress: Problem Solving
To solve the problem, first, identify the known and unknown quantities. The initial length (L) of the bridge is 1275 m, the coefficient of linear expansion (α) for steel is 12 x 10-6/°C, and the change in...
Temperature and Thermal Equilibrium
The concept of temperature has evolved from the common concepts of hot and cold. The scientific definition of temperature explains more than just our sense of hot and cold. Temperature is operationally defined as the quantity measured with a thermometer. Furthermore, temperature is...
