Retrograde Parotidectomy Allowing Diagnosis of Parotid Lymphoma and Concomitant Facial Reanimation

We describe a rare case involving a 52-year-old woman presenting with a large facial mass and facial palsy in whom five biopsies were non-diagnostic. In the setting of a growing facial mass that evades traditional diagnostic methods, we describe a strategy of concurrent facial reanimation surgical approach and parotidectomy to safeguard the facial nerve, obtain a diagnostic tissue sample, and simultaneously reinnervate midfacial function with a CN V-VII nerve transfer.
