    Background:

    • Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) regulation is primarily determined by the interplay between thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) and thyroid hormones (T3) within thyrotrophs.
    • Subtle variations in normal thyroid hormone levels can substantially alter thyrotroph sensitivity to TRH.
