    Summary

    Background:

    • Platelets play a crucial role in hemostasis and thrombosis.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To quantify endogenous serotonin release from human platelets stimulated by adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and collagen.
    • To investigate the distinct mechanisms underlying ADP- and collagen-induced platelet secretion.
    • To evaluate the utility of measuring 5-HT release as an indicator of platelet activation.

    • High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was employed to measure endogenous 5-HT levels.
